Metro Manila (2013), Sean Ellis. Last last night I think, I watched this film. I never thought that a film about the country directed by a foreigner can be this good. The approach of the film was realistic although it was through the perspective of a foreign eye especially the scenes on how they coped up with poverty. The reality of the film was based on the reality of the foreigners - the employment, the club house, the dwellings. Also, some of the twists are quite predictable, but I have never thought that the ending would be that way. I didn’t also get some of the story-telling devices used in the film, but nevertheless, the film is good.
